29th July 2017 The big city of Bern

This day we made another road trip to one of the nice big city in Switzerland Bern.
In the morning around 10 am we drove to a parking space in Bern and met auntie Ruth friend  Mrs. Lottie who is a sister of a Late friend of Mrs. Petitjean. She has lived in Bern throughout almost all her life and was glad to show us around this lovely city.

There I felt  a little like am in Ghana, kejetia because there was a big outside market in front of their parliament house with a lot of people buying and selling.
I was lovely seeing a lot of people in this big city including tourist  from different countries.
We first took a bus for the packing area to the city parliament hall we walk around the area while auntie Lottei showed and explain her city to us. We entered the parliament house and there we saw pictures of the Swiss government leaders.
We further move to other parts of the city and we went to a big cathedral with a long tower.
The Bern Minster is a Swiss Reformed cathedral, in the old city of Bern. Built in the Gothic style, its construction started in 1421. Its tower, with a height of 100.6 m, was only completed in 1893.
We climbed to the top of the tower.

Stephen and I climbed the tower whiles mum and auntie Lottei waited for us on the ground. We climbed to the highest point and there we meet a Taiwan lady which we became friends with.
Again we climbed back down and we walked to see some bears in a big cage along the big river flowing through this beautiful city.
Soon after we took the bus back to the packing area and drove back to Arisdorf.

25th July 2017 ARA Birs

We visited the ARA Birs a  waste Water treatment plant in Birsfelden, Switzerland. It was a nice opportunity for me to see how waste water is treated into clean water by special processes separating the dirt and chemical.
Mr. Hubman one of the managers at the waste water plant took us around the waste water plant showing us and explaining all various sectors of the plant.
Right from the waste water plant intake to through the screening stage which remove bigger and smaller object . Then to the sand  removal stage to a pre-clarification  stage further to biological batch system then to the final clean water output.
This tour through the waste water plant made me realize the importance of maintaining our natural environment and this plant has taken environmental water cleaning to a higher level.
During the conversation a training opportunity for us in the waste water plant was discussed and we were given a contact address to apply for the training in the waste water plant.

After the industrial trip in the waste water plant, we went and visited Aunty Margret in Frankendorf. There we firstly had a flight in a airplane flight simulation system with was really amazing setup.
I took my first flight in the plane feeling the engine and vibrations in the airplane simulator. Then after we had a nice meal with aunty Margret and had a good conversation with her.

The Alphorn players stater playing the Alphorn at 10:30am and they were about 180 Artists.
We walked around the area and saw Bernhardiner dogs Swiss werestling people singing and Alphorn musical instrument construction.

At the Alphorn instrument construction area we got the chance to play an Alphorn our self and it was difficult to play but interesting how the sound came out.
We stayed there enjoying the festival till the evening.

22nd July 2017 Walk in Bisse-Vieux

On  this day in the morning we had a nice walk around Nendaz with Aunty Ruth. She showed us a house named Akwaaba a Ghanaian word Which means Welcome.

After we futher walked from the Akwaaba house up hill to the walk way Bisse-Vieux, where we walked along a nice river flowing along the mountain side.
The Bisse-Vieux is a Bisse Valais of 5.9 km in length located in the district of Conthey and, specifically, in the municipality of Nendaz .
It draws its water in the Printze and flows up to Haute-Nendaz in the form of bisse. From there, it joins the Rhone at the height of the road of Bieudron, in the form of torrent. It is also called Bisse d'En Haut by cartographers of the time, but the popular denomination will take over.

When we finished the walk we went home and in the evening we went to the street to see the festival parade.

Finally we went home after the parade and after supper we play a game triminous.

21th July Mont Fort

The journey to my highest mountain began this faithful day and by the organisation of our dear mum we reach the to of Mont Fort.

It all started after a night rest in Mr. and Mrs. Petitjean nice apartment in Nendaz. Mrs. Petitjean drove us from their apartment to Siviez where she got us all ticket for a ride in cable car.
We first my took my first cable car ride in a chairlift type cable car. It was spectacular for me, sitting in a chair and hanging on a cable moving along the cable veiwing the some settelment and mountains.

In about 10 minutes we reached Tortin TND and in a few minutes later we took another cable car or tram (Aerial tramway/Reversible ropeway) to Col Des Gentianes. We stayed there for about 1hour 30 minuts to adapt with the weather there i saw my first snow. whiles we were waiting had some fun in the snow and some picnic.
After the waiting period we took another tram from Col Des Gentianes to Mont Fort.

Mont Fort is a mountain of the Pennine Alps, located near Verbier in the Swiss canton of Valais. It lies on the range between the valleys of Bagnesand Nendaz, north of the Rosablanche. With a height of 3,328 metres above sea level.

We climbed to the peak and took some pictures and had nice hot soap at a restaurant over there.
This moutain trip really gave me joy and a wonderful impression of Gods creation.

We had a good weather but colder than ground, we returned bu the same cable car ride which i enjoy very much.

20th July 2017 Trip to Nendaz

We started this journey in the morning, with a long drive from Arisdorf thorough the city of Bern. We packed and had some picnic at a spot around Lac de Gruyeres. We spent some time around the place to relax and continue our journey.
After this stop we continue the our journey from Lac de Gruyeres, with beatiful site seeing along the road  we stopped again at the most biggest and beautiful lake I have ever seen lake Geneva.

We futher continue the trip and visited Bisse de Savièse Torrent-Neuf. The Bisse du Torrent-Neuf (also Bisse de Savièse ) is a Suone ( French bite ) near the village of Savièse in the Swiss canton of Valais . The bottom line above Savièse is used together with a 1935 tunnel through the mountain Prabé to the source until today.
The Bisse du Torrent-Neuf is probably the most impressive in the Canton of Valais due to the constructively demanding lines running up to 1934 in the rock faces above the Morge .
This obsolete section in the Morge Valley had been abandoned since the decline, was partially reconstructed beginning with the year 2005 and made accessible with the parallel hiking trail 2008 to the public.
Torrent-Neuf walk way is of a distance of 5km mountain side clip and long metal bridges. We started the walk around 4:30 pm, walked along the mountain clips through tunnels and 4 metal hanging bridges. In about 2 hours we were able to complete the walk way and all the 4 metal hanging bridges.
It was the first time for me to walk on these hanging metal bridges and was scrary at first but after 3 bridges it became easy for me. It was also the first time aunty Ruth also completed the try and she was glad she made it.
We all set on our way back from the hike and took all 4 bridges again back to the starting point. We rested with a refreshing drink and continue our journey to Nendaz. Soon we reached Nendaz later in the evening and rested after a long day trip.
