14th July 2017 Visit to Basel Zoo

In morning I got some exercise to do with the cutting of the flowers and cleaning the leaves. I enjoyed  the work very much because I was using a cutting machine and cut some power cables. I fixed the cables again and continue cutting the flowers.
We eat a light meal and set out to the Basel Zoo around 2:00 pm with auntie Ruth friend.

Zoo Basel is Switzerland's oldest (1874) and largest zoo (by number of animals). With over 1.8 million visitors per year, it is the most visited tourist attraction in Switzerland with an entrance fee.

Zoo Basel was ranked as one of the fifteen best zoos in the world by ForbesTraveler in 2008 and in 2009 as the seventh best in Europe by Anthony Sheridan from the Zoological Society of London

In the zoo we saw all kind of friendly and wild animal in wide spaces comfortably moving around their kept spaces.

At 4:00 pm we sat down at a little stadium, watch the zoo keeper feeding sea lions and did some small shows with them.
Then after that we went down below to the aquarium side. We saw a lot different types of fishes, lizards, snakes and lotplace.
The main thing I was very please with is the way there mimic the real environment with the animal use to leave in the  wild and brought that to the zoo.

Especially the engineering techniques they use to control the temperatures and other things need for sea weeds to grow and sea animals to survive is really amazing.
